Position Summary: Responsible for guiding our practice, navigating the changing landscape of quality-related regulations and programs in radiology.
Essential Functions:
- Responsibility for maintaining a group wide PQI project program that would ease fulfillment of this regulatory mandate (Part IV of MOC)
- Organize, develop, implement and monitor all quality initiatives under the direction of the RANT Quality Committee and senior leadership, complementary to corporate policies and goals
- Supervision of Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) requirements and compliance
- Work with the IT department to receive, track and report data related to PEC activities
- Assistance in the creation and upkeep of a physician citizenship and practice-building activity database. This includes further assistance with the aggregation of physician scorecard data for use in marketing and value-based reporting to clients.
- Coordination of the analysis and provision of RadPeer data to client facilities
- Coordinates compliance activities including development of audit plans to test fulfillment of legal and regulatory requirements including but not limited to the HIPAA, HITECH and MIPPA Acts. Proactively identifies areas where there may be substantial risk of unlawful conduct and responds accordingly, with direction by the appropriate executive officers and the governing Board.
- Designs, prepares and presents educational materials and presentations relevant to Quality processes, for both physicians and staff. Explains quality assurance policies, procedures, systems and objectives to staff and implements quality training programs for key personnel in conjunction with managers
- Coordinates, through interface with the RANT billing company, the provision of PQRS data to CMS
- Continual maintenance of compliance with Quality-related regulations, government programs and industry initiatives, including Meaningful Use, while keeping well informed of current changes that may affect health care
- Coordinates ACR Registry activities and Strategic Radiology Quality surveys
- ACR National Radiology Dose Data Registry
- ACR Dose Index Registry
- Ongoing follow up related to biopsy and interventional procedure outcomes
- ACR Imaging 3.0 program management and auditing
- Radiologist corporate macro management and development. Additionally, in collaboration with the Standards Committee, ensure that corporate macros adhere to radiology best practices.
- Follow up reporting and analysis re: RANT Help Desk tickets dealing with radiology study report errors. Would look for common error trends and organize methodologies cure repeated errors.
- Coordination of subspecialty Quality measures with RANT section chiefs, including monitoring subspecialty interpretations
- Coordination of RANT Meaningful Use implementation program, in collaboration with Information Technology staff
- Researches information related to quality assurance including reviewing patient medical records and investigating areas of identified concern
- Creates quarterly and yearly radiologists’ QA reports and distributes to radiologists, hospital Medical Directors and Clinic Medical Directors
- Functions as administrator for the 360 Radiologist Performance Feedback program along with the IT and HR Director, in order to obtain and apply data for yearly Radiologists’ performance evaluations
- Maintain systematic program for receiving, resolving, tracking, trending, and addressing issues related to service complaints received from patients
- Quality Management Committee Co-Chair
- Coordinate and organize meetings, minutes, and follow up on actions recommended by members
- Prepare reports on findings of audits as noted for QA meeting
- Prepare reports on findings of peer review data
- Communicate QM recommendations to appropriate personnel
- Clinical QA – Chairman of Committee
- Track and trend all audit information; assist with organization and presentation of data involving report timeliness, customer satisfaction, etc…
- Regular and timely attendance required
Qualifications and Education:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Science, Healthcare Administration or related field.
- Five year’s experience within a healthcare environment.
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQL), or goal to obtain
