Congratulations to Radiology Associates of North Texas radiologist Noah Appel on being named the 2017 Physician of the Year at Texas Health Dallas!
Each year, active Texas Health Dallas physicians are nominated by their peers for their excellence in the practice of medicine and demonstration of exemplary leadership qualities. Finalists are selected by the Medical Executive Committee, and active medical staff members vote among finalists to determine the Physician of the Year.
During the Annual Medical Staff Meeting in November, Texas Health Dallas announced Dr. Noah Appel as the 2017 Physician of the Year. Dr. Appel has provided interventional radiology services at Texas Health Dallas for 14 years. He also is currently serving as President of Medical Staff at Texas Health Dallas.
Dr. Appel joined Radiology Associates of North Texas in 2011 when Southwest Imaging and Interventional Specialists (SIIS) merged with Radiology Associates of Tarrant County to form Radiology Associates of North Texas. Prior to the merger, he had been a member of SIIS since 2003.
Dr. Appel received his A.B. (1993) and M.D. (1997) degrees from Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Appel then completed his internship at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri followed by Residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine. He completed his fellowship in Interventional Radiology also at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology in 2003. Dr. Appel is a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology and also holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. In 2007 he attained Level 2 Verification of Cardiovascular CT Experience from the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography. Also in 2007 he earned the Registered Vascular Technologist and Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation credentials from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
